It was a hot day in mid green-leaf. Shadowpelt, ThunderClan's
deputy, was shring tongues with her best friend Secretheart.
Suddenly, some of the toughest ThunderClan warriors with some shocking news.
"We smell dogs!" he said, "They live in our territory!"
Sunstar, the ThunderClan leader, had a grim look on his face.
Shadowpelt got to her paws, as Secretheart followed. Shadowpelt padded up to her leader.
"Sunstar, don't go, your on last life," Shadowpeplt pleeded, "please go rest. You need it."
"I can't rest knowing my Clan is in danger!" He spat, "Are you mouse-brained?"
Secretheart licked Shadowpelt's head, "He's just cranky, because he is old."
Shadowpelt looked down at her black paws, and she looked up at her leader, then her friend. Sunstar had never been that hostile to her before. He usually did anything she said.
"I will go." She said.
"You sure?"
"Yes, Sunstar."
"Then I go, too."
Shadowpelt sighed. But she didn't want to argue with him again. He might be a little grumpy because he was on his last life.
The Clan padded along to where the dog's scent was strongest. And they found the yappy little creature standing there. Bearing his teeth as he look at the Clan of cats.
Shadowpelt beared her teeth, and unsheathed her claws. the dog ran forward. As Sunstar was his target.
"Sunstar!" Shadowpelt yelled, "Sunstar! Sunstar, run!"
But it was too late, the dog swiped him, and he flew and fell on the ground, unmoving.
Shadowpelt ran over to him, and the other warriors where fighting off the dog.
Shadowpelt knew how this would end; the old ThunderClan leader was dead.
One moon passed, and Shadowpelt, excuse me, Shadowstar, lead ThunderClan, but everyone knew that there, past leader, Sunstar, had a special place in StarClan, and the night they sat vigil was so hard to cope with. She grieved for the former ThunderClan leader, more than any cat, because she was his deepest friend. But Shadowstar, ThunderClan's new leader, will will be remebered also, like she is today. But the rest...no one knows...
